This evaluation was non-invasive. The following is recommended: * The column bases require 4-3/4" bolts. Use 3/4" Hilti bolts 4"o.c.,-2-3/4" apart parallel to the column web for new bolts. Drill new holes and set using Hilti epoxy system. * The slab is in good condition and no work is necessary. * The piers and grade beams have supported loads for approximately 30 years and appear in satisfactory condition. * The new wall against the existing structure shall have a 2 hour fire resistance. The wall shall run to the roof deck. Use 2 layers of 5/8" fire resistant sheet rock on 2x4 wood studs. Jill Gulden and Betty Toscano appeared. Jill Gulden reviewed questions raised at last hearing. Ms. Gulden presented the Board with letters of support for this proposal from several local business owners. Ms. Gulden argued a need exists to serve beer and wine with the seafood served at Key West. The applicant stated she was trying to increase business. This is a tourist oriented business. Customers want a beer or glass of wine with seafood. Ms Gulden noted they were trying to draw customers to that end of Main Street This is a unique operation and will help make Main Street"stronger". Mr. Gallagher was concerned with how the liquor will be served Tina Carey from Gringo's spoke in opposition of this proposal. Ms Carey was particularly concerned because of take out nature of this business. Ms. Carey noted there are twenty (20) liquor licenses within close proximity. Howard Penn appeared to speak in favor of the proposal. Mr. Penn noted Main Street cannot have too many good restaurants which help bring business to Main Street. Mr. Penn further stated this type of operation will appeal to tourists, and encouraged the Board to give the applicants a chance.
