I Cmrrnts for Incident: 95 001264 Exposure: 00 Date: 12/11/95 FIRE kLARM REC'D A CALL REPORTING A OIL SPILL"BEHIND THE COAL CO.ON ENTERPRISE RD."I RESPONDED IN E-822 WITH FF'S CLOUGH AND JONES.C-802, DEPUTY BRUNNELLE,ARRIVES BEFORE US AND REPORTED A SPILL COVERED WITH SAND AT 95 CORPORATION RD.ONCE ON SCENE OUR INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT A PAIR OF TRAILER DUMP r RUCKS ARRIVED AT THE PROPERTY AND BEGAN OFF-LOADING COAL BEFORE REGULAR BUSINESS HOURS.THE SECOND EHICLE(SE BELOW FOR VEHICLE DATA)BURST A HYDRAULIC HOSE WHILE OFF-LOADING.THE TWO DRIVERS CONTACTED HYANNIS SAND AND GRAVEL.THEY WENT TO THE YARD PICKED UP A LOAD OF SAND,CMAE BACK AND COVERED THE SPILL WHEN THE IRON HOUSE EMPLOYEES ARRIVED FOR WORK THEY ASSISTED IN COVERING THE SPILL AND THEN BEGAN PCIKING UP THE SAND AND OIL MIXTURE WITH A LOADER OWNED BY THE IRON HOUSE.THE PHONE CALL WAS RECEIVED FROM A PASSERBY NOT ANYONE INVOLVED IN THE INCIDENT. UPON THE DEPUTY'S ARRIVAL A LOAD OF OILY SAND HAD BEEN PLACED IN THE IRON HOUSE'S DUMPSTER AND ANOTHER LOAD WAS IN THE BUCKET OF THE LOADER.THIS OPERATION WAS STOPPED AND A BOARD OF HEALTH AGENT WAS REQUESTED TO THE SCENE TO TEST THE PILE AND GIVE DIRECTIONS AS TO CLEAN-UP AND REMOVAL.WE VERIFIED THAT NO OIL HAD REACHED THE STORM DRAINS OR BARE GROUND.ALL OF THE SPILL APPEARED TO BE CONTAINED ON THE TAR OF THE IRON HOUSE PARKING LOT AND CORPORATION ROADWAY.E-822 RETUREND TO QUARTERS AND DEPUTY CHIEF BRUNNELLE REMAINED ON SCENE WAITING FOR THE BOH AGENT.PER DEPUTY BRUNNELLE DONNA MORANDI ARRIVED TESTED THE PILE AND GAVE CLEAN-UP AND REMOVAL INSTRUCTIONS.
