Thanks for meeting with David Barna of Spine&Pain Institute of NE yesterday. He was
encouraged by the meeting and asked us to proceed full speed ahead to prepare plans.
Late last evening he made a last ditch proposal to take the entire building he was looking
at in Yarmouth that would,if accepted resolve the septic issue he had. To his surprise,
they accepted the offer and he decided to stay there instead of moving to�3D_Main
Evidently the Hyannis location was much more costly for him. '
Sothis project evaporates as quickly as it started. Thanks again for your help.

Dear Mr. DaLuz:
I am writing to enclose copies of the Site Plan and First and Second Floor
Plan drawings for this project. These have been prepared in accordance with
Mr. Garnick's and Mr. Princi's request to provide private offices for eight
professionals, which are indicated on the Floor Plan drawings as Offices
1 - 8.
Based upon the Zoning Bylaw Parking Requirement in the Professional
Residential District of 4 spaces per professional, this project requires a
minimum of 32 ten feet by twenty feet spaces. Please note that the Site Plan
drawing indicates that we are providing 36 spaces, including 2 handicapped
spaces. Therefore, it is my understanding that we exceed the minimum parking -----
requirements of the-Zoning Bylaw. ` -

Dear Mr. Garnick:
At our regular monthly meeting on December 5, 1984, members of this Commission
discussed the plans of your firm to purchase and demolish the Captain Francis
A. Bursley house located at 32=Main_Street=in—Hyannks It was the unanimous
vote of the Commission to apprise you of our concern regarding the implications
associated with the prospective loss of one of the remaining nineteenth-century
sea captain's homes in the village of Hyannis.
The timing of your plans coincides with the inception of development of the town's
first historic preservation plan, funded by a Town Meeting.appropriation of $14,000,
with a State reimbursement grant of 50%. A critical component of this plan is the
development of a listing of historic properties which appear to be eligible for
nomination to the National ,'Register of Historic Places either individually or
collectively in a district encompassing similar neighboring sites. National
Register listing affords not only recognition -that a property's historical
significance meets standards imposed nationally, but also tax incentives for
rehabilitation of income-producing property.
We deplore the prospect of losing a building that contributes to the historic
flavor of the Park Square area and may be eligible for National Register nomination
and attendant tax credit at the very time that we are engaged in securing a
professional historic preservation consultant to apply National Register criteria
for the first time to historic properties throughout the town in preparation for
initiating the National Register nomination process.
Since the Captain Bursley house appears to be potentially eligible for National
Register nomination as a district component, if not individually, we urge you
to reconsider your demolition plans in view of. possible tax benefits that could
accrue from its rehabiliat.ion as a National Register property.
Retention of this building would surely enhance the possibility of the designation
of a National Register historic district in the east end of Hyannis, qualifying
other eligible income-producing properties for similar tax credit, and complementing
the reconstruction projects currently in progress nearby that will result in
reproduction buildings reminiscent of the era of which the Bursley house is an
authentic representative.
We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the benefits accompanying
ownership of historic properties, and we hope that we may look forward to working
with you in preserving one of the remaining historic neighborhoods of Hyannis and
