Subject: Cancellation of Appeal to Zoning Board Zoom Meeting March 8
Good Afternoon Anna,
I tried to reach you by phone today and left a message. I wanted to convey my decision, to cancel my appeal
to the Zoning Board Zoom meeting scheduled for March 8th. I attended the Zoning Board of Appeals meeting
February 8th to speak during the public comments portion of the Centerville Gardens ll LLC Appeals. I am the
owner of 38 Wequaquet Lane, the property that directly abuts 36 Wequaquet Lane, the proposed site for a 110 ft
Cell Phone Tower. Centerville Gardens ll, LLC and Crown Castle Towers LLC are the principals trying to obtain
zoning aproval for the Tower project.
I did get an opportunity to speak at the appeals hearing and I was able to voice my concerns about the
project's direct effect on the value of my property at 38 Wequaquet Lane. The 110 foot tower would be highly
visable from my front yard being positioned barely 40 yards away. I was able to express many of my concerns
about cell phone tower radiation where a safe distance of 300 meters is recommended, and my home is 178 feet,
or 54.25 meters from the Tower. I requested and was granted a continuance to consult with counsel and prepare
a more professional presentation of my objections to the Zoning Board. They were gracious enough to grant me a
month and I'm scheduled to join their next Zoning Board Meeting on Zoom scheduled for March 8th.
I've had time to process my feelings about this situation and it is a bit overwhelming to be hit by it all at once.
However, it's not my intention to cause needless delay to the project and I don't feel that returning in one month
with counsel to reiterate my concerns will serve any real purpose. I trust that the Zoning Board will decide the
matter taking all necessary steps to protect residential interests, as well as the business community's.
By means of this correspondence, I am attempting to notify the Barnstable Zoning Board of the decision to
withdraw my appeal scheduled to be heard at the March 8 Zoom Meeting. I do apologize for any inconvenience
my request for a continuence may have caused them and believe it's time for me to step back, so the Board can
get on with the business at hand. Thank you and you can reach me at: (310) 986‐5022 with any questions or
follow up.
Best Regards,
Rick Harrigan
