Hi,
Please see below comments from the Waterway’s Commi ee Mee ng 02/28/2023
1) Hahn, Angela Y, 150 Bay Road, Cotuit, MA 02635, Map 7/Parcel 18. The applicant proposes to
construct and maintain a 4’ wide brushed footpath through 50’ buffer, bank access stairs; pile
supported dinghy dock with 3’ X 12’ ramp, 8’ X 12’ float and kayak racks.
Waterway ’s Commi ee and Harbormaster staff was in support of this project.
2) Sidman, Lori, Trustee, 185* Ocean View Avenue, Cotuit, MA 02635, Map 033/ Parcel 016. The
applicant proposes to repair, maintain and relocate pier head and boat li s. Due to shoreline
accre on, pier li s will be adjusted 25 feet seaward; the pier will extend 60 feet from Mean
High Water.
Waterway ’s Commi ee has deferred a decision on this project un l an engineer can present more data on
historical shoaling in the area.
Waterway ’s Commi ee is asking Conserva on Commi ee to defer NOI un l a decision can be made.
Harbormaster Staff does not support this project for the following reasons:
1) Any extension of the exis ng dock may be a hazard to naviga on due to its close proximity to a major
channel.
2) Extension of the dock may only be a short term solu on when considering the dynamic changes of
shoaling in the area.
Thank You,
Jay Horn
