Subject: Access Road within our 150’ setback
More modifications to our zoning bylaws???
This solar developer is suing our town and for that we already have modified our
bylaws!!
Now they want the screening, berm and access road to be within the 150’ setback to our
homes. It defeats the purpose of the setback! It no longer would be a setback!! It’s
absolutely unacceptable!
It violates the intentions of our bylaws painstakingly crafted by our Legal and Planning
Depts. to protect the health, safety and the chimera, the illusion of peace in our homes
under these circumstances.
The access road will be used all day during the long months of construction and then by
Eversource to spray glyphosate! We have 28 years of dirt, dust, exhaust fumes and the
constant beeping and banging of trucks by the career criminal Chris Keyes.
What is the guarantee Eversource will abide by our laws if we can’t enforce them from the
start even before the project begins??
None of you live here, you won’t have to experience it. But imagine the nightmare that
will be ours and our families’ for the next 30 years! Imagine your children playing outside
when, always unannounced, Eversource arrives to spray deadly glyphosate.
Please don’t give them what they ask for! Keep the setbacks as they were written into law!
TJA solar will be long gone once its sold to Eversource. And then where will we be??
They need the extra profit these modifications would give them. It would be used to sue
other towns for the right to poison other water systems and communities.
The Supreme Judicial Court’s recent decision does give municipalities greater ability to
protect the health safety and welfare of its communities and natural resources.
Use that that greater ability. It’s ours if we just take it!
Our community and especially our precious children Thank you for voting No to these
modification requests.
