We chose to utilize these for our project given their reputation for being environmentally friendly and their low environmental impact. Since no power tools are required or pouring of cement into the ground for their installation, we believe this type of footing is the ideal choice for work necessary within the buffer zone. If approved, the deck will remain in the same footprint of the existing structure and the boards will be replaced. Diamond pier footings have changed the industry with their breakthrough technology and are not only nationally approved but also meet the International Residential Code. Locally, these footings were approved for use on the construction of the Sandwich Trail. Given their reputation and proven abilities to support structures in high water and wind locations, Diamond Pier was found to be the ideal system for this elevated walking trail which consists of over 300 ft and runs over coastal land and sensitive ecosystems. The evident advantage Diamond pier footings provide to projects such as these and their approval, is the low impact environmental installation procedure. Diamond pier footings are installed by hand with no heavy machinery and no heavy equipment necessary and are designed to protect these sensitive ecosystems. This unprecedented technology has been proven to reduce erosion and compaction while providing minimal site disturbance and allow the integrity of the soil to remain intact. I have also provided a copy of the pending building permit for the deck repair. I have also attached a picture below of our 5 foot concrete retaining wall that lies between the project and the wetland. Because of the elevation and distinct separation from the wetland, I believe this retaining wall prtects the integrity of the wetland and plays an important role in making a determination of eligibility for this project. Thank you for your consideration and time on this matter. We look forward to speaking with you this evening at the meeting. It is designed to replace a conventional concrete pier footing typically used in the construction of decks, gazebos, screen porches and similar type projects. Diamond Pier is a pile driven foundation system with large steel pins that are pile driven through a high-strength precast concrete head. Diamond Pier provides a heavy-duty foundation system that allows builders to start framing immediately. Just set the DiamondPier, drive the pins, connect the bracket and start building. This saves time and scheduling headaches. And, there’s no need to dig deep holes, pour concrete, or repair the landscape. Diamond Pier's low environmental impact makes it an outstanding "Green" solution to your next building project and it's an ideal choice for building in wetland and conservation areas. The load capacities of Diamond Pier are equal to or greater than a standard concrete pier footing size described in Pin Foundations Capacity Comparison Chart, so there is no need to change designs or post layouts – just follow the Load Chart and Installation Instructions, and substitute Diamond Piers where conventional footings are planned. Their light weight and ease of installation make Diamond Pier the perfect choice for any residential project, and they are covered by a Warranty that lasts the life of your structure. Diamond Pier Foundation SystemSizes available are DP50, DP75 and DP100. https://www.cslsales.com/dimaondpier.htm Thank You, Matthew Scioletti MA Licensed Plumber #27041 774-810-0292 www.sciolettiplumbing.com www.facebook.com/sciolettiplumbing CAUTION:This email originated from outside of the Town of Barnstable!
