To the Conservation Commission:
The Haseotes family, owners of 773 South Main St Centerville, which is adjacent to ours, have filed a notice of
intent for permission to install a swimming pool at their property. We ask that you deny the request given the
family’s egregious behavior against the Conservation Commission and to our property in the recent past. In
2018, in the dead of winter when no one was around, the Haseotes family cut down more than 100 trees on our
property to improve their view, trees that were very mature and were very much within the Conservation
Commission jurisdiction. The Conservation Commission admonished the Haseoteses for their actions (I believe
on August 14, 2018) and compelled them to replant the trees at their own cost, which they finally agreed to do
but fully coordinated by us. In addition to the trees the Haseoteses were also found in violation with regard to
their dock and other features of their property. Since the Haseotes family seems to feel that they are entitled to
violate rules before complying once caught, we don’t feel that their swimming pool application can be trusted to
be in compliance once executed. Which wastes the time of everyone involved. Even if the property has changed
hands within the Haseotes family, the family has not earned the trust of the Conservation Commission nor of
their neighbors and in that vein we ask that the application, once submitted, be denied.
The first hearing on the intent to install a swimming pool is tomorrow, March 28. See attached.
Sincerely,
Rance Crain and Cynthia Crain
