Hi David,
Everything you provided points in that direction. I agree that the 1987 disposal works construction permit verifies four
bedrooms were approved. July 4, 2008 is when the Estuary Regulation applied to residential permits. So Nancy Leitner,
the health inspector in 1987,was not concerned about bedroom restrictions at that time.
What I don't know is if the Health Department ever approved or acknowledged approval of this one bedroom
cottage. In any event, based on the information you provided showing approval by Building Department in 2014
(building permit B-2014-04277), I can see how the applicant would believe a total of five bedrooms should be
approvable at this location and I believe the applicant would succeed in obtaining such an approval.

Good morning Tom,
I have a designer inquiring about said property and bedrooms allowed. They are in the Estuary for
restrictions. Attached please find two photos I took from the file last night. They can definitely have 4 bedrooms (see
permit in photo)and the second part is interesting,there is no permit(no surprise its two cesspools)for the cottage
that had been there (see photo of inspection report from 2013 showing 2 systems, 1 for 4 bed main house, 1 for 1 bed
cottage)and in 2014, building permit B-2014-04277 was completed to destroy the one bedroom cottage and no re-
build planned. There was not an abandonment permit issued for the cottage,so not sure if that was abandoned with
the cottage destruction or not. Can they have 5 bedrooms,or would you need anything else for them to do a 5
bedroom house?
