Town Building Re : Mr. Paul Mellon
Hyannis Mass. Putman house. .
Dear Board Members;
This very old house was purchesed and restored
For Mrs. Mellon' s son Mr. Stacy Lloyd and family. The family con-
sists of nine people, including the help, who use eight bedrooms.
The family occupied the house for seven weeks in the summer of
1978. When Mrs. Lloyd left last summer she said she wanted to make
one upstairs bedroom into a sitting room, and an other one into a
nursery for the baby. This made it nessary to make two new bedrooms
for two of the older children. I saw several sketches of addditions
to the lod house and they both would have ruined the lines of !the
house, and Mrs. Mellon would not approve of eather one. She sug-
gestes that a small .building be built just large en.nugh for two
bedrooms and one bathroom, and to be located as shown on the
inclosed drawing. While it is not connected it is so close that it
could not be used by anyone except this family.
What I propose to do is to cut a 4" XH. Y, into the main
drain from the house to the first septic tank, and then from this
Y. run a 4" drain to the new building. This would in no way alter
the present system, or add to the present load. This would keep
all the sewage in one place.
It is for this reason that I am asking that you grant us
a variance to be allowed to make this connection.
Hoping that this will explain the reason for this request,
and that you will grant same, I remain;
Si kely o " s
