HOMEOWNER'S EXEMPTION The Code states that: "Any omeowner performing work for which a buildin permit is required shall be exempt from the provisions of this section ection 109.1.1-Licensing of construction Superviso s); provided that if the homeowner engages a person(s)for hire to d uch work,that such Homeowner shall act as superviso ." Many homeowners w o use this exemption are unaware that they are assuming the esponsibilities of a supervisor (see Appendix Q,Rules& gulAtions for Licensing Construction Supervisors,Section 2.15) his lack off awareness often results in serious problem ,particularly when the homeowner hires unlicensed persons.
