D’Ambrosia, Chris & Jack, 43 Bacon Lane, Centerville, Map 207 Parcel 018/000, Built c.1925
Relocate a structure by disassembling, labeling and reassembling at new site in Hyannis, with the structure to be rebuilt to match
existing size and character. The structure will be visible from Cook Circle.
John Carey and the homeowners Chris & Jack D’Ambrosia were present. The homeowners said they are happy that this home can be
saved and moved, without the porch and sunroom which were added later and will not be part of the relocation.
Public Comment:
Wade McGillis asked when the relocation is supposed to take place, and the homeowners anticipated sometime in September.
Mark Law asked about the garage, and Chair Clark replied that the garage is not part of this application.
Discussion:
Commissioner Powell asked about the porch that is not going to the new site, and the homeowner replied that it was an addition put on
about twenty-five years ago and has some rot, so moving is not feasible. Mr. Carey said he is moving only the main structure and will
not be rebuilding the fireplace on his property.
Commissioner Parks asked about Mr. Carey’s use of the structure as a garage on the new site, and he replied that his goal is to save the
exterior of the house. She asked where the garage door will be, and his reply was “on the side with a sliding barn door.”
Commissioner Shoemaker commended Mr. Cary for all his efforts in saving this house.
