Guidance Update – March 30, 2023
On March 29, 2023, Governor Healey signed into law a supplemental budget bill which, among other things, extends the
temporary provisions pertaining to the Open Mee ng Law to March 31, 2025. Specifically, this further extension allows
public bodies to con nue holding mee ngs remotely without a quorum of the public body physically present at a mee ng
loca on, and to provide "adequate, alterna ve" access to remote mee ngs. The language does not make any substan ve
changes to the Open Mee ng Law other than extending the expira on date of the temporary provisions regarding remote
mee ngs from March 31, 2023 to March 31, 2025.
