HomeMy WebLinkAboutOKH 05 24 23 Draft Minutes Town of Barnstable Old King’s Highway Historic District Committee MINUTES Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 6:30pm To all persons deemed interested or affected b y the Town of Barnstable's Old King’s Highway Historic District Act under Section 9 of Chapter 470, Acts of 1973 as amended. You are hereby notified that a hearing was held by remote participation via Zoom Meetings on the following applications: Bett McCarthy, Chair Present George Jessop, AIA Present Ryan Coholan Present Lesley Wallace Present Wendy Shuck, Clerk Present Kaitlyn Maldonado, Assistant Director, Planning & Development Present Erica Brown, Administrative Assistant Present A quorum being met, Chair Bett McCarthy called the hearing to order at 6:30 pm. The Chair explained the hearing and appeal process and invited the public to address the Committee and view the plans of interest when the application is called. ______________________________________________________________________________ Roll Call Chair Bett McCarthy called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm and took roll call. Attendance Roll Call: Lesley Wallace Wendy Shuck George Jessop Ryan Coholan Bett McCarthy CONTINUED APPLICATIONS None APPLICATIONS Livingston, Susan, 101 Rendezvous Lane, Barnstable, Map 279, Parcel 028, Built 1920 Construct in ground granite pool with fence. Wendy Shuck moved to open the public hearing. Seconded by Lesley Wallace. Roll Call Vote George Jessop- aye Ryan Coholan- aye Lesley Wallace – aye Wendy Shuck – aye Bett McCarthy- aye No representative was present. The Committee members agreed that there was sufficient materials to discuss this project. Wendy- Fairly straightforward. No issues. Ryan- No issues. George- Appropriate. Lesley- Agreed. Bett- No issues. Public Comment: None Wendy Shuck moved to close the public hearing. Seconded by George Jessop. Mass DoT, 2701 Main Street, Barnstable, Map 258, Parcel 041 Emergency Tree Removal Exemption Mass DoT. 3885 Main Street, Barnstable, Map 335, Parcel 052 Emergency Tree Removal Exemption Discussion: George noted that he would not like to set a precedent of trees being taken down for their proximity to the road. The Committee Members all agreed that it was necessary for these trees to be taken down based on their condition and safety concerns. Approval of Minutes July 14, 2021 A motion was made by Wendy Shuck to approve the July 14, 2021 minutes as submitted, seconded by Lesley Wallace, Roll Call Vote: George Jessop- aye Ryan Coholan- abstain Lesley Wallace - aye Wendy Shuck – abstain Bett McCarthy- aye July 28, 2021 A motion was made by Wendy Shuck to approve the July 28, 2023 minutes as submitted, seconded by Lesley Wallace, Roll Call Vote: George Jessop- aye Ryan Coholan- abstain Lesley Wallace - aye Wendy Shuck – abstain Bett McCarthy- aye May 10, 2023 A motion was made by Wendy Shuck to approve the May 10, 2023 minutes as submitted, seconded by Lesley Wallace, Roll Call Vote: George Jessop- aye Lesley Wallace - aye Wendy Shuck – aye Bett McCarthy- aye Ryan Coholan- aye Next Meeting Date: June 14, 2023; June 28, 2023 ADJOURNMENT- Wendy moved to adjourn meeting Wednesday May 24, 2023.
