My name is Gary Conway and I currently live in a home one block from Main Street in Centerville. We love the
street and all its quaintness and historic charm. My wife is a librarian at Sturgis Library and was born on the
cape. We also enjoy the businesses including the country store, 4 Seas Ice Cream, Captain Kelly House,
children's playground, field of dreams behind the town's building, the church which was moved from Phinney's
Lane to its current location and the Centerville Library. My wife was once a trustee for the Centerville Library
and was there for the expansion project. She now enjoys her time at Sturgis Library.
We do not want the historic nature of main street disturbed in any way and we are hopeful it will not be
disturbed to allow for this project after the permitting process to proceed. There must be an alternative path that
can be pursued without disturbing the pristine nature of our beloved main street and I would urge all committee
members to reconsider this path and to implement a new path without detriment to our town's main street.
