The two columns will have exactly the same design, size and lamps as shown in the attached photo. The lamps will be Nantucket style to match the exterior lamps installed on our house already (they were purchased from a store in Sandwich). The light posts and small decorative fences will be made of Azek (PVC) white solid composite of good quality. We will add some cobblestones on the two sides around the columns and the small decorative fences. The length of each decorative fence on either side of the light posts will be approximately 5-6 feet. We plan to plant 2-3 evergreens behind each small fence. If planted in front, after a few years the small fences will not be visible. We have been told that the distance between the entrance columns has to be wide enough to accommodate a fire track, in case of a fire. The design, color etc have been approved already by the Community Association Board who, given the location of the property, asked us to submit an application for Certificate of Appropriateness to the Historical Commission.
