Ms. Brigham:
I am writing in opposition to the Wendy’s being proposed at the old Santander building on West Main Street.
As a longtime resident in the town of Barnstable and a homeowner /resident on Pine Street I cannot emphasize enough
how terrible a fast food restaurant in that location would be for our traffic pattern and the area itself.
Given the the current construction/traffic situation in our immediate area - which shows no sign of slow down with the
sewer project and the wind project -two already busy roads (Pine and W Main) are already bearing an extra burden.
Additionally, a location directly across from BHS would be a disaster as kids are shooting out of that entrance all day long
and I can only imagine them trying to get in and out of Wendy’s. New drivers, busy roads, distractions all equal a huge
impact on the residents in surrounding areas.
