Previously cut/topped sapling-size oaks will be removed and area replanted with winterberry holy. The
goal is to preserve the view without continued pruning /cutting within the 50’ buffer. Existing creosote
timbers that serve no purpose (below). To be removed and planted.
Example of invasive species (bittersweet) and previously topped oak.
Degraded creosote timbers that provide access to the pond will be replaced with cedar or locust timbers.
The goal of the project is to allow existing native vegetation to thrive by removing invasive species.
Existing views will be preserved by removing invasive vegetation and previously cut/topped oaks, and
planting native vegetation that will be allowed to reach mature fruiting size and will not require pruning.
Existing creosote timbers that no longer serve any purpose will be removed. Existing degraded timber
steps that allow access to the pond will be replaced with new timbers to allow for safe access.
