Thank you. COMM Conservaon Commission Dear Commissioners, My name is Cody Jones, I reside at 111 Mockingbird Lane, a direct abuer of 810 Wakeby Road. I am reaching out with concerns with the proposed TJA Solar project at 810 Wakeby Road with relaon to groundwater and wetland protecon. Aached you will find topography maps and arial photographs taken from the backyards of Anne Salas, Mary Burkinshaw, and Jennifer Lannon on Mockingbird Lane. On the wetlands map you will find a recognized wetland owned by the Long Pond Farms Associaon at an elevaon of 69 feet. The deepest porons of the parcel at 810 Wakeby lie at an elevaon of 57 feet, a difference of 12 feet. The parcel at 810 Wakeby normally has standing water in those low areas and has been aempted to be filled in with dredgings from the Mashpee River in the winter of 2021- 22 following yet another deforestaon operaon in the summer of 2021. The delineated wetland area off of Dove Lane resides within 100 feet of the property line of the 810 Wakeby parcel. The town bought the Hayden Wellfield property to protect a groundwater aquifer that supplies drinking water to over 30,000 residents. This project poses a direct threat to safe drinking water to my family and many others. In addion, the property at 810 Wakeby did not comply with the rules set by the town over 20 years ago following the excavaon. The angle of repose for the sides of the pit were never corrected and are well beyond the 33 degree safe angle. Also, the owner was ordered to allow the natural vegetaon to regrow. Periodically the owner cutdown or dug out any vegetaon that grew in the parcel, most recently in 2021. I humbly request your consideraon to deny this project from moving forward to preserve Barnstable wetlands and keep providing safe drinking water for my family, neighbors, and other families in Sandwich, Marstons Mills, and Cotuit. Thank you, Cody Jones DJI_20240211131322_0033_D.JPG DJI_20240211131329_0034_D.JPG DJI_20240211131418_0036_D.JPG
