Hello Mr. Ellis,
I reviewed the RDA applica on and the proposed vista corridor the applicant is reques ng appears to
meet the standards of the Commissioner ’s Vista Pruning Guidelines, as far as the loca on and the
width of the corridor, and what I have seen the Commission comfortable with. The request to
maintain the understory at 4-6’ height/ undula ng cut, within the corridor is a waiver from the
guidelines, however I have seen the Commission approve this if this is only way to obtain a view, if not
possible by limbing the lower branches of the trees. The request to remove the Russian Olive would
be a special request of the Commission, however, again will most likely be granted as it is an invasive
tree.
The Commission approves vines to be cut by hand and pulled out of the trees and they have approved
treatment of PI along a path with Rodeo which is safe to use by wetlands with an RDA.
As far as view protec on, I recall when applicant proposes to plant trees, which could obstruct a
neighbors exis ng view along property lines, the Commission will take that into considera on and
request the neighbors work out a plan ng plan that everyone can live with. However, I do not recall
the Commission moving a vista corridor because it is too close to the neighbors property, which I
believe is your concern.
As Kim men oned, you are welcome to bring up your concerns during public comment. I can not
advise if you should obtain an a orney that is up to you. We will place your email into the public
comment folder.
Thank you

Do issues like view protection from our property onto theirs come into play? e.g. it
could be argued that tearing down trees and bushes in that vicinity would open up
views of their house from our boat house, beach and pier and also hurt our privacy.
What kind of data points do we need to vote against this? Environmental, financial or
what?
You had a hearing regarding a 299 Eel River proposed lot plan, which I objected to on
the grounds that the plan would siphon water towards our property and the person
who was leading the agenda simply asked everyone to quickly vote and I was
ignored.
Do we need a lawyer to help protect our interests or will concom do that for us?

Hi Kimberly,
Question: What is the process for not wanting this designated tree, limb
and bush destruction within the 50 ft zone to happen? Do we simply need
to object in the hearing to stop it?
This is a zone that you folks have vigorously protected.
Thank you.
