Hello Robin,
My neighbor forwarded me these Google Map screen shots from November 2018. They may be
helpful to you for a before and after perspective.
I looked at photos and videos taken this fall of the rear yard of 970 Main over the weekend. The
backyard looks completely different. I spent a lot of time between 1990 and 2000 visiting and working
with my husband at his then office in the back or northern most unit at 990 Main Street. It looked right
out at the rear of 970 Main. The backyard had some dead storage behind the auto body. That area
was not actively used for business. Behind the house it looked like most any residential back
yard. In the pictures I could see that quite a bit of vegetation has been removed including a large,
beautiful copse of old lilacs. The gravel back there is new. The new owners seem to be near
constantly operating their business out of doors. This is a large change.
Another source of historical information for you could be the former owner, Joyce Huhtanen
Howes. Joyce sold the property to Richard Sundelin. She grew up in the house and lived there for a
number of years as an adult, caring for her mother. Her phone number is 508-428-2338.
I was in 200 Main around noon today and left a zip recruiter ad for an auto body tech which appeared
to offer 80-100+ hours of work. Possibly per week? 80 or so hours would not be inconsistent with the
hours they keep. They still remain open 7 days a weeks with an occasional Sunday off. This Sunday
they were open for the day at 8:30 in the morning. In the last couple of weeks they have routinely
been open until at least 7 pm and as late as 9:45 pm.
