Dear Mr. Swift:
You are granted permission to construct an addition to the
dwelling located at 28 Otter Lane, Cummaquid. The dwelling have
a total of five (5) bedrooms and one ( 1) den after your
completion of the addition.
The existing system consists of a 1000 gallon septic tank and two
(2) leaching pits.
You testified that the bottom of the leaching pits are greater
than six (6) feet above the groundwater table elevation. Based
upon the information presented, the Board of Health does not
object to the proposed addition without any expansion or
alteration to the existing septic system.

Dear Mr McKean,
I am representing my clients Dr & Mrs Henry Casey
of 28 Otter Lane, Cummaquid .
In 1974 I constructed a three bedroom house for Dr
& Mrs Casey . The Title V system at that time consisted of a
1000 gal . septic tank and one 61x8I pit with one foot of
stone around it . This was engineered and approved by the
town . In 1984 I constructed an addition for the Casey-Is which
added a bedroom. Upon recieving the permit to construct this
addition another pit of 61x8I with one foot of stone was
added to the system. ( enclosed as-built plan )
At this time, Dr & Mrs Casey have an additional
child in thier family and wish to add a fifth bedroom. The
enclosed floor plans show the existing four bedrooms , the
proposed location of the fifth bedroom and the possible
consideration of the cen being a sixth bedroom.
I would ask the Board to accept the existing septic
system as adequate for the expansion of the proposed bedroom.
Dr & Mrs Casey have four children and need the extra bedroom.
To date they have had no problems with the existing Title V
septic system.
I would ask that the Board, if they concur, to
write a letter such that I may obtain a building permit for
the proposed bedroom expansion .
