Their septic installer,Jim Holler,contacted me in October, 1999 about a change to a septic system design by J.E.Landers-Cawley,PE.The design called for six perforated pipes on one foot of stone. It was to be installed nine feet below the final grade. I did an observation hole to verify the sub-surface materials.The soil in the location of the SAS was poor to fourteen feet.I recommended a strip out of the impervious materials to be replaced with clean medium sand to an level five feet from the final grade. The strip out to be five feet beyond the new system.I called for three eight foot by five foot by two foot precast conc.leach chambers with four foot of stone instead of the perforated pipe. I witnessed the strip out and the replacement with clean sand.I inspected the new system before it was back filled.I believe the redesign meets Title V.If you have any questions please contact me at(508)-888-4029.
