years
o Sarah’s Mother - Has worked at Riverview school for
10+ years
o Sarah - Graduated from Sandwich and worked in Cape
School System
o Matt - Graduated from Barnstable High
•Attempting to build our retirement home. Love this area and
want to keep the same charm and beauty. Continue to invest
heavily in this project to find a solution.
•The lot purchase is contingent on permitting and building
approval, our agreement with the land owner expires this
month.

•Our plan is to clean out the
vegetation and expose this historical landmark
•Consulting with landscaper and conservation to add
indigenous trees behind the wall to create a historical look from the road
Concerns We Heard Over The Past Meetings
•Carriage house too close to 6A
o Josh Blakely worked with land engineering to adjust position on the lot and he will show these changes
o Keep in mind we have a wetland buffer behind the home, so we cannot push the structures back further
•House needs more historical look
o Made additional changes to both structures to meet this request. Josh will show latest
o Over 30 changes made to the plans since first meeting.
o Compromised on all the specific issues we have heard:
o ie: Window details and 6 over 6 panels, window additions and consistent spacing, garage doors and square offs, roof lines, elevation, added historical home details, etc.
•Size of the home
o Reduced square footage further, Josh to show.
o Completed comparison of other homes on our road.
