NOTHING AND HOLES IN 2X WOOD JOISTS.
14. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED ON DRAWINGS, ALL
STUD WALLS SHALL BE CAPPED WITH DOUBLE TOP PLATES
WITH OVERLAPPING CORNERS AND INTERSECTIONS. SPLICE
IN TOP PLATES SHALL BE ON TOP OF STUDS AND BE OFFSET
MINIMUM 4 FEET.
15. ALL TOP MOUNTED JOIST SHALL HAVE MINIMUM 3
INCH BEARING.
16. ALL EXTERIOR AND INTERIOR WALL SHEATHING
SHALL BE 15/32 APA RATED SHEATHING. AT EXTERIOR WALLS
USE EXPOSURE 1 PANELS AND USE EXTERIOR GRADE
SHEATHING WHEN LONG CONSTRUCTION DELAYS ARE
EXPECTED. PROVIDE 2X HORIZONTAL BLOCKING AT LEAST
EQUAL THE SIZE OF JOIST, AT ALL UNSUPPORTED PANEL
EDGES. SHEATHING SHALL BE PROPERLY FASTENED TO THE
WALL STUDS, SOLE PLATES, TOP PLATES AND BLOCKING AS
REQUIRED BY CODE, OR SHOWN ON DRAWINGS. PANEL

17.ALL ROOF SHEATHING SHALL BE 5/8" APA RATED

AND/OR FOUNDATION WALLS SHALL BE PLACED IN UNIFORM
HORIZONTAL LIFTS HAVING A MAXIMUM LOOSE THICKNESS
OF 9-INCHES AND COMPACTED TO AT LEAST 95% OF
MAXIMUM STANDARD DRY DENSITY IN ACCORDANCE WITH
ASTM D1557, UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED OR SPECIFIED.
3. LOOSE, SOFT, WET, FROZEN, OR OTHERWISE UNSUITABLE
SOILS SHOULD EITHER BE RE-COMPACTED OR OVER-
EXCAVATED TO A SUITABLE SUBGRADE, AS APPROVED BY
THE ON-SITE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. NO FOUNDATIONS

LAYER OF CRUSHED STONE, PLACED ABOVE PROOF-ROLLED
UNDISTURBED NATURAL SOIL. IF BEDROCK IS
ENCOUNTERED, IT SHOULD BE EXCAVATED A MIN. OF 12"

CONCRETE TESTING AGENCY. CONTRACTOR SHALL ASSUME
FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR DESIGN OF CONCRETE MIXES
AND FOR MAINTAINING STRENGTH AND PROPER SLUMP
DURING CONSTRUCTION.
3. CONCRETE SHALL BE NORMAL WEIGHT CONCRETE WITH
FINE AND COARSE AGGREGATE, TYPE I OR II PORTLAND
CEMENT AND WITH A MINIMUM 28-DAYS STRENGTH OF 4,000
PSI.
4. ALL CONCRETE EXPOSED TO THE WEATHER OR POSSIBLE
FREEZE/THAW ACTION SHALL CONTAIN AIR-ENTRAINING
ADMIXTURE WITH 6% (±1%) AT POINT OF DELIVERY.
5. CONCRETE MAY CONTAIN A WATER REDUCING,
PLASTICIZING OR ANY APPROVED ADMIXTURE. THE
MAXIMUM WATER-CEMENT RATIO OF ALL CONCRETE SHALL
BE 0.5 (U.N.O.).
6. NO CALCIUM CHLORIDE SHALL BE USED IN ANY
CONCRETE.
7. CONCRETE COVER PROTECTION FOR REINFORCEMENT

INTERVALS (UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED). FOR INTERIOR
NON-LOAD-BEARING WALLS AND PARTITIONS, EMPLOY 2X4
STUDS, ALSO PLACED 24" ON CENTER (UNLESS OTHERWISE
INDICATED). TO SECURE STRUCTURAL MEMBERS, FOLLOW
THE FASTENER SCHEDULE PROVIDED IN TABLE R602.1(1).
FOR LOAD-BEARING WALLS, USE A DOUBLE TOP PLATE WITH
OVERLAPPING AT CORNERS AND INTERSECTIONS WITH

INSULATE EXTERIOR WALLS WITH CLOSED CELL SPRAY FOAM
TO A MIN. R-30. INTERIOR WALLS AROUND BATHROOMS, AND

TIES: ENSURE HURRICANE TIES ARE INSTALLED ON EACH
