The responding Harbormaster vessel Ocean 4 swiftly initiated a rescue operation along with other local first responders; Barnstable Police Department, COMM Fire Department, Hyannis Fire Department and the United States Coast Guard. Ocean 4, with Deputy Harbormaster Jay Horn and Assistant Harbormaster, Tyler McKay arrived on the scene at approximately 0839 hours along with COMM Fire Department. After confirming that all eight individuals on board were unharmed including the five children, Harbormaster staff onboard Ocean 4 facilitated the safe transfer of five juvenile males and one adult female from the stricken vessel to Bismore Park Marina in Hyannis. The vessel, identified as 36-foot power vessel, was observed hard aground on the rocks of Collier Ledge with significant damage to its hull. The remaining two adults chose to stay on board to await assistance from commercial salvage. Towboat US responded to and facilitated the salvage of the vessel. The vessel was removed at 1415 hours and towed back to its home port. We commend the swift and coordinated efforts of all responding agencies in ensuring the safety of all individuals involved.
